Aztec Animal Clinic

Greetings:

I am starting this blog to disclose the truth about the Aztec Animal Clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I took my min-pin there a couple of days ago. He was very sick, so weak he could not walk or even hold his head up. (When I tried to give him some water, his head dropped into the water bowl). I went there after a recommendation from a friend, who had her dog's teeth cleaned there. This is what I read on the Aztec Animal Clinic website: (quote)

"INTENSIVE AND CRITICAL CARE for hospitalized patients, including oxygen therapy, blood pressure monitoring, fluid therapy, and blood transfusion capabilities."

After reading that on their website the night before, I assumed this facility is an animal hospital where the patients receive hospital care. Imagine my surprise, after speaking with one of their physicians last evening, to discover that all of their staff goes home at 5:30pm every night! What would you do after you, being critically ill, checked into a hospital only to discover all of the nurses go home at 5:30 and you are left to your own devices until 7:00 am the next morning?

Please come back, I will be writing much more very soon...

Yup, I think that's garbage that no one is on staff AT AN ICU FACILITY! I guess the only clue might have been the fact that they didn't have 24x7 hours in the first place.
They should have disclosed this on the outset.
I agree tho, ICU must be 24x7.

THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT AZTEC ANIMAL CLINIC IN ALBUQUERQUE

Dr. McGuire, all the Vets, the staff, and the administrators of Aztec Animal Clinic should be listed as the THE VERY BEST VET CARE IN TOWN. Barbara McGuire and her staff have been taking care of my family and its 4-legged members for a very long time. Their integrity and care is beyond reproach. The practice is professional, attentive, personal and, above all, loving. There is no better place to take your smaller pets than to Aztec Animal Clinic.

You're an idiot.

It says on their website: "WE PROVIDE EMERGENCY CARE FOR OUR CLIENTS during office hours. For after-hours emergency care, the Albuquerque Animal Emergency Clinic (505-884-3433). AAEC has relocated to 4000 Montgomery Blvd NE, just one block east of Carlisle. They have a full emergency room staff all night long, to constantly monitor and provide quality care for your pet."

If you knew your pet was hurt the night before you should have taken him to an Animal Hospital RIGHT AWAY not waited until morning.

You should think twice before you post something like this, bashing other people when they're helping your dog.
How ungrateful.

Melissa...

You are obviously a very sick woman. To respond to my attempt to set the record straight, by calling me an "idiot" is avery juvenile response! I was not BASHING you at all but simply pointing out your twisted view of a very professional and reputable animal clinic. I certainly would never be grateful to you for your spreading of LIES AND HATRED. It will only come BACK TO YOU! You are out-of-touch about the Aztec Animal Clinic. Maybe you should get back on your meds...

Dr. McGuire and Dr. Fletcher are incredibly caring and passionate doctors. They have always treated me and my chihuahuas with the utmost respect. They listen and they heal. You should be ashamed of yourself posting an entire blog about the BEST VETS IN TOWN. get a life and stop trying to hurt other people who are only making the world better. kate

Mateo/Kate...

Kudos to you for sticking up for AZTEC the BEST PET HOSPITAL/CLINIC we have in Albuquerque. The wackos, W. "wild" West and Melissa who are totally out of touch with reality are just spreading lies and hatred. Their problems are far greater than this vet issue. Unfortunately, weak minded people like "D", Meandering Mandler and Chandler have bought into these lies. I wonder if any of them have truly experienced the incredible staff at Aztec. Thanks again for setting the record straight.

Sam, I believe Melissa is calling the writer of this blog an idiot for not looking at the website or the name for that matter. It says clinic for a reason not hospital. I also believe that the animal clinic is amazing because they don't try to put my dog down every time they have an illness like other vets in town.

Thanks for clarifying this, Michael.

My cat also had a serious condition and was left overnight. And, guess what, THEY TOLD ME VERY CLEARLY THAT IT WAS NOT A 24 HOUR FACILITY! Also, they saved my cats life numerous times, and, although not cheap, ended up saving me quite a bit of money by NOT bringing them her to a less compassionate "24-hour pet ER" whose doctors are IMHO, much less capable. Aztec is among, if not THE best vet I have enver visited.

I agree that Aztec is the best veterinary clinic in town. To the author of the blog, you should research where you are going to take your animal before you take them there. I worked at Aztec for a short time and I know when there were very sick animals, a tech would stay late to care for them or they would refer the client to the emergency veterinary hospital.

There are 24-hour emergency pet services in town, and Aztec does not advertise itself for those kinds of services. I've had a variety of animal companions over the past 15 years or so and we've always used Aztec Animal Clinic. I'm sorry you lost your animal, but posting inaccurate drivel such as this, and disparaging the reputations of some fine, caring people who always have taken great care of my family members, is not a way to deal with your grief.

I'd agree that Aztec Animal Clinic is the best care in town. Your vindictiveness is identifying. You're probably a very sad individual. 2007 huh...so 10 years ago!? Get a life and take your page down.
